Watch ORCA process an entire city's road network from aerial imagery — assigning PASER-compatible ratings to every segment, flagging deterioration, and producing GIS-ready deliverables. This is what 48-hour road assessment looks like.
ORCA aerial assessment flyover — North Chicago municipal road network, west to east traverse. Each road segment is analyzed for surface distress, assigned a PASER 1–10 rating, and delivered in GIS-ready format. Footage shows real assessment output.
ORCA analyzes high-resolution aerial imagery across every segment in the road network. Each segment is evaluated and a final PASER-compatible score is assigned and PE-reviewed.
AI models consume the visible longitudinal, transverse, block, and alligator cracking patterns. Even fine cracking networks visible in high-resolution imagery are captured.
Weathering, raveling, and aggregate loss alter surface reflectance and texture. ORCA models take in these surface-age indicators to distinguish recently maintained roads from those approaching end-of-life.
Extensive patching indicates prior distress and predicts future maintenance needs. ORCA translates patch coverage and condition to factor repair history into the final segment rating.
Every assessment is reviewed by a licensed Professional Engineer before delivery. The PE confirms methodology consistency, flags anomalous segments, and reviews the output against PASER standards.
Actual segment ratings from the North Chicago assessment. Every road receives a numeric PASER score and a condition classification — delivered as GeoJSON and shapefile with full attribute tables.

Every ORCA assessment includes a network-wide condition summary, showing the percentage of road length in each condition category — the data your engineers need for capital planning and WISLR reporting.
In this network, nearly half of roads (45%) were in Poor or Failed condition — critical intelligence for capital planning and grant applications. ORCA identified priority reconstruction candidates across multiple corridors, enabling the municipality to build a defensible 5-year CIP.
